COOPERATIVES ARE MEMBER OWNED AND MEMBER CONTROLLED
A housing cooperative is a corporation in which members own a share, elect a board of directors, and participate in the ongoing operating decisions of the cooperative. Each member pays a portion of the cooperative's monthly operating expenses, including: maintenance, utilities, taxes, principle, interest, and reserves. Members also enjoy the same tax benefits of home ownership.
